Old Hat (Or Bow), But Still...

I wonder if I'm the only one who gets the impression that this:

looks a lot like this:

Or maybe it's just the dark dress and red bow (though methinks anime Kiki's red bow is cuter...and I'm also slightly stupefied to discover that Kirsten Dunst actually did the voiceover for Kiki in the Kiki's Delivery Service English dub!).

I love this movie !

It's not spectacular but it's sweet and I'm a little bit of a ghibli fanatic. I watched the original version with subtitles though.

Isn't K.Dunst also known as kiki ?

I love Studio Ghibli films too! *squeals happily*
I watched it when I was about five, in Cantonese (don't ask how this happened, I had to have every line translated to English before I could understand). And I didn't realise about the nickname...it makes me wonder if the stylist was on a Ghibli trip.

aah! I finally got around to seeing this tonight. I really love the older Ghibli stuff.

But Kiki's giant bow is cuter. Though I love Kirsten's quiet hint of violence. yum.

I wouldn't have made the connection, because I'm not all that familair with these films. I've only seen one. And besides, I was too busy interpreting the sinister shadow behind Dunst as something . . . sinister.

Definitely a resemblance.... but Kiki's bow as in Kiki in the film not K Dunst (why do some ppl shorten Kirsten's name to Kiki...?) has the better bow!

My university cinema has been having a Studio Ghibli and anime season this semester which has been so nice because I get to rewatch all my favourite films on the big screen!
I never noticed the resemblence but you're right (got to go with Kiki though, how can you resist such a cute kid?)

Teehee, cute comparison!

Odd that you should post the Miu Miu campaign pics, as I posted them in my "Insiders Info" blog!

yes, you are the only one who gets these impressions.

what mental conspiracy theories you keep hatching in that fiendish diabolical mind of yours i say.. tchah very sad these kids are becoming simply hurling accusations hither and tither instead of climbing coconut trees like we did in our youthful days. this is just like the time you besmirched the name of most honourable prashant verma-san

:-)
