Pintless Musing To The Nth Degree

Since I seem to be a little Potterised this month (apologies for the long absence, this place has occupied the better part of the last week and it's too addictive to stay away from so posting will be sporadic till I've managed to convince nearly everyone there that the series isn't antifeminist), it isn't really surprising that my first thoughts on seeing the picture on the right on Style Bites were 'Ack! House-themed jewellery!'. And the place they came from turned out to be named, of all things, Gigi Caron- effectively establishing a connection to not one, but two great literary loves of mine. Despite the fact that I'm really not very fond of things of the bijoux persuasion, I'm a sucker for quirky names- and even though I'd probably end up throttling myself with the chain of the Gryffindor (sorry, it's called something else but the lion on the locket looks like a dead spit of the one on the house crest, only facing a different direction) pendant and would probably never wear it, they're still quite cool to look at.
EDIT: I just realised, I'd qualify for execution by Lynne Truss for the title of this post, but it seems to be a bit of a Freudian slip and a true one, to boot. I'll just leave it up so visitors can laugh at my pathetic spelling skills.

Unless you mean that you need a pint of beer, the title of this post is missing an "O".

Great jewelry....The top one is my favorite because it looks like a family crest.

What a surprise..I was just poking around for any fashion blogs I might have missed and did a doubletake when I saw my jewelry here. Glad you like it! I hadn't thought of it as Potter-esque but I'm cool with that. Just finished the book this weekend! And @ Jessica, you're right, this kind of lion symbol is called a Lion Rampant and appears in many coats of arms, from family crests to national symbols.

It's just dawning on me that you are a fully fledged Potter fanatic, aren't you?

Re: I'm on Claudine Gets Married at the moment and I was devastated when she fell in love with her cousin/the old man, I was hoping that Monsieur Maria would shave off his beard (I think beards prevent men from being loved) and she'd fall in love with him. The male characters slightly perverse tendencies towards schoolgirls simultaneously amuses me and freaks me out though. It's a little bit Japanese.

Wendy: I visited your site, the jewellery is lovely indeed- even if the skulls make me shiver. And I meant what I said about the name.
Meg: You're on what I know as Claudine in Paris (I think different publishers put the books out under different names). But I did like Marcel (he's such a little slime, but amusing)- not as a character, but he's funny.

Blue: I forgot to mention that I loved your accidental title for your post. I thought, "Get that girl a beer! STAT!"

Haha, always a Freudian slip, when you mean one thing and say "your mother".

Anyway, what I wanted to say was, that whole Gryffindor comparison bit with the pendant ... boy, have I had moments like that.

One of my friends did a ponytail on top of her head and I asked her if she was feeling Who-like, which went over her ponytailed head, seeing as she had no idea what I was talking about. Cindy Lou Who anyone? Am the only one who induldged in How the Girnch Stole Christmas every year?

Dr. Seuss may as well have raised me.

So yes, don't be sorry for the Gryffindor-ness.

It's all acceptable.

LOL @ "when you mean one thing and say "your mother". "
That line always cracks me up.

Those look deliciously Potter-esque. And I do love me some Fruedian slips! Pintless. Oh, you pun master.

Chelsamajiggy: I haven't had a ponytail on top of my head since I was five. I do miss having the funny clips, though.
Shelby: It was Freudian all right, thankfully the situation has been remedied since.
