Spot The Resemblance, Yet Another Edition

Ann Demeulemeester SS07 Menswear
Screencap from Roswell , episode #1.0 (Pilot)
I suppose it'd be beyond bizarre to think that Ann Demeulemeester, of all people, decided to take inspiration from a long-extinct teen TV show about everyone's favourite silver-handprint-leaving aliens, but the thought was too funny to pass up. Besides, I watched Twilight a couple of weeks ago and honestly cannot see what the fuss is for- if anyone wants sensitive forbidden small-town teen love between a one-part-human, one-part-not-human couple that is absolutely impossible and all the more desired for that, it was done ten years ago, and better -Season 1 is still one of the best things I've watched on TV, ever*.
And as for Cedric Diggory (I cannot think of Rob Pattinson as any character but that, blame my Harry Potter addiction), if anyone has got this far down the post you should definitely watch the video pitting Edward Cullen against another of my 90s/early 00s TV loves- it's brilliantly put together and funny too.

*admittedly, Season 2 went a bit haywire with all the alien stuff- I couldn't bring myself to like it as much, until the end. But it was still Roswell, and I still loved it for that.

This was so much fun to watch, how creative hehe I loved "Buffy" as well, and yes, Robert Pattinson will always be Cedric Diggory:)

That Buffy vs Twilight was fantastic. It totally points everything that freaks me out about this whole "Edward, be mine!" response in most girls. Plus, it offends the appreciation I've gained of the vampire myth as an exploration of female sexuality because the last thing I want is for my libido to chart the pathetic course that Bella seems to be treading.

WendyB: It's possibly THE best of its kind I've ever seen...and Buffy does kick ass :)

Romeika: I know, it's brilliant- apparently the creator, rebelliouspixels, spent months working on it- and glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks of Rob Pattinson in Harry Potter terms!

That Student: Y'know, I didn't mind the Twilight story at first- I read the first one in early 2006 and thought 'oh, ok, some vamp stuff for tweens'...and forgot about it till the third one came out- it wasn't till I listened to massive amounts of online gushing that it occurred to me it was such a huge deal. And while I don't mind the whole Perfect!Vampboy thing (it's a vamp novel, after all, I like those as a genre), I do mind the fact that he's stalkery and overbearing and Bella seems the next thing to spineless (and the less said about the path she does end up on, the better).

I bet San (Princess Mononoke) would kick some sparklevamp ass, too.
